Extension of the Art Museum Zurich

New building at Heimplatz in Zurich, with an underground connection to the existing Kunsthaus. Concept and planning for all phases of artificial lighting for all rooms, as well as the outdoor area with Art Garden and facade lighting. The currently largest art museum project in Switzerland was designed for permanent and temporary exhibitions starting with the planning in 2011. In close collaboration with the architect, we developed a lighting concept that works with a few, clearly defined luminaire types. The impressively large, high entrance hall is powerfully illuminated with cylindrical surface-mounted luminaires - in the circulation areas, dressing rooms, etc., luminaires of identical design, albeit significantly smaller, perform this task. The exhibition rooms can be freely illuminated with specially developed mobile luminaires. This concerns the diffuse basic lighting as well as the technologically pioneering accent lighting. Our goal was to create lighting tools that make it possible to present art in the most versatile ways.
