Renovation of the Predigerkirche Zurich
Three-headed pendant luminaires extend forward in the rhythm of the pillars at each side of the main aisle and group together in a spatial arrangement above choir. Glass lenses set in a ring that radiate light upward and downward generate a subtle ambient light while emphasizing the arches between the central aisle and the lateral aisles, as well as the church ceiling. The project included the replacement of this existing lighting in order to achieve not only energy-efficient lighting, but also additional control options, such as separate control of the direct and indirect lighting. With the additionally installed spotlights, which now provide the previously too dark oratory and choir area with suitable brightness, together with the overall lighting, significantly more lighting scenes are possible for a wide variety of uses.
