New Giacometti Hall lighting

With the fresco by Augusto Giacometti, the Amtshaus I hosts one of the most important works of art of the city. In the process of the overall renovation we were commissioned with the conception and planning of a new lighting system. We replaced the old, eye-catching lights with a discreet lighting solution. The light output now sets in precisely above the sandstone columns and rises gently to the zenith of the domes. By determining the ideal colour temperature at the site and the excellent colour rendering quality of the LEDs used, the painting, once perceived as deep red, becomes an unexpectedly fresh, colourful world. Special constructions, such as enclosures with integrated lights that illuminate the four murals and back-lit windows complement our interventions.
